RUN

Distance   2.3 miles (approx)

Run Route

The "First" Run will begin on the north side of Parking Lot A and AA.

Participants will head east on roadway to the new Commerce City Trail. The surface is crushed stone, the paths nice and wide.

Course surface is excellent for running and walking. First half mile is relatively flat and overlooks the open space for the Rocky Mountain Arsenal (now the home of buffalo and other protected animals). The next half mile goes gently uphill and then downhill heading west. It passes 1 and ½ miles as it turns south toward the roadways of Dick's Sporting Goods Park and then turns back to the east paralleling Prairie Parkway. It exits onto Prairies Parkway after 2 miles and heads east back to the Transition area, entering from the southeast corner of Parking Lot AA.

BIKE

Distance   10.5 miles (approx.)

Bike Route

The course (completely closed to traffic other than official and emergency vehicles), is relatively flat in for the first 6 miles with slight upgrades in the second half of the course but nothing difficult). The Course begins from the SE corner of the Transition area (located in the north 2/3's of Lot AA) and turns immediately south for a short distance and then turns east to the perimeter parking lot road of Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

The Course begins from the SE corner of the Transition area (located in the north 2/3's of Lot AA) and turns immediately south for a short distance and then turns east to the perimeter parking lot road of Dick's Sporting Goods Park
Participants will exit the Park via Valentia Way onto 56th. Turning left (east) onto 56th, using the north lanes, the course will head east to Yosemite and turn back in a clockwise fashion into the south lanes of 56th heading west back to Valentia Way..
The course then turns north (right) onto Valentia and follows the perimeter roads of Dick's Sporting Goods Park turning left (west), then right (north) until hitting 60th where cyclists turn left (west) to Quebec
Course proceeds to HY 2 and turns in a clockwise fashion back south.
At Quebec, the course turns right (north) in the right lanes and then continuing in the left diagonally guides into the left lanes (divided by a median) heading north after 64th (this is a slight uphill).
It then reaches HY 2 and turns around in a clockwise fashion into the east lanes and heads south (a slight downhill) on Quebec.
Passing the new high school, it turns left (east) onto Prairie Parkway (64th) and returns to a point just prior to the NW corner of Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Course then turns right (south), at this point YOU will be among the very first riders to enter Dick's Sporting Goods Park Stadium on a bike! Entering at Gate G, you will ride onto the Mezzanine level, turn right (south) and ride counterclockwise around the Mezzanine (and perhaps SEE yourself LIVE on the jumbotron).
Cyclists exit the Stadium through Gate B. From there it's a quick ride past Lot A into the Transition area for your second Run!
Bike Course is approximately 10.5 miles and is exclusively on paved roads. Closed to vehicular traffic.
